Christmas!

We made cookies, read Christmas stories, had family over to our home, exchanged gifts, including giant bags full of fun, went to a beautiful Christmas Eve Service, set out cookies for Santa and played with our new toys in the driveway at 7 am. We packed up later that afternoon and headed to Edgefield for more Christmas fun.  It was a  wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Program

The annual children’s Christmas Program at church was a hoot.  Gracie was a dove, James was a cow (bless him for picking an animal we already had a costume for!).  The manger animals (aka Cherub Choir, ages 3- Kindergarten) definitely stole the show.  They were hilarious and sweet and a wonderful reminder of the excitement of the season.  The story of Jesus’ birth was told beautifully by the three year olds-5th graders.

Fancy Nancy Tea Party!

Gracie turned 6 and celebrated with a few friends.  She had a Fancy Nancy Tea Party, complete with tea cups, snacks, crafts, nail painting (thanks to Sara and Anna!), dress up and stories.  Gracie read a Fancy Nancy book that she wrote and I read a Fancy Nancy book to the girls.  J surprised Gracie by dressing up in a tux and helping to park cars and be the butler.

Thanksgiving and KC Christmas

We spent Thanksgiving in KC.  We also celebrated Christmas with Elizabeth’s family.  We helped Grandma decorate the tree and had a great time with all the cousins.  We also had fun walking around the plaza, looking in the Halls windows decorated for Christmas and snacking on Topsy’s Popcorn.740 741 743 745 746 756 761 762 774 776

Halloween

We decorated cupcakes, went to Brattonsville for a reenactment and celebrated Halloween.  We had a great time trick or treating with our favorite little goblins again this year.  The kids went in style on a hay ride.  Grown ups got in on the dress up again this year and the kids thought that J’s bull horns were  the funniest things.

We had fun finding and decorating our pumpkins.  We also had a photo shoot that included pretending to sleep with our pumpkins.  Fun stuff.
