We made cookies, read Christmas stories, had family over to our home, exchanged gifts, including giant bags full of fun, went to a beautiful Christmas Eve Service, set out cookies for Santa and played with our new toys in the driveway at 7 am. We packed up later that afternoon and headed to Edgefield for more Christmas fun. It was a wonderful Christmas!
The annual children’s Christmas Program at church was a hoot. Gracie was a dove, James was a cow (bless him for picking an animal we already had a costume for!). The manger animals (aka Cherub Choir, ages 3- Kindergarten) definitely stole the show. They were hilarious and sweet and a wonderful reminder of the excitement of the season. The story of Jesus’ birth was told beautifully by the three year olds-5th graders.
Gracie turned 6 and celebrated with a few friends. She had a Fancy Nancy Tea Party, complete with tea cups, snacks, crafts, nail painting (thanks to Sara and Anna!), dress up and stories. Gracie read a Fancy Nancy book that she wrote and I read a Fancy Nancy book to the girls. J surprised Gracie by dressing up in a tux and helping to park cars and be the butler.
We decorated cupcakes, went to Brattonsville for a reenactment and celebrated Halloween. We had a great time trick or treating with our favorite little goblins again this year. The kids went in style on a hay ride. Grown ups got in on the dress up again this year and the kids thought that J’s bull horns were the funniest things.
